On the third week after going to hospital for my stroke, with considerable help of a therapist, I started trying to walk again.  I was absolutely determined to do it.  I had lost a lot of weight during my stay in hospital. I was skin and bone after losing 7 kg or 8 kg.  Before, I was on a drip fighting for my life.  

Haltingly, I got up slowly from my seat with the help of the therapist - it was a massive struggle to get up – I was so exhausted, but I was intensely resolved to do it. I took a step forward very slowly (it was hard and strenuous work), another step forward with my other foot, all of which was guided by the therapist, who had a firm grip on me.  I was haltingly walking again!
