Reflections in ICU (when I was conscious)

I was placed in ICU on that day when I had my stroke.  I was sharing a room with three or four other patients - I remember it vividly, although I was unconscious for most of the time.  I was twice in and out of consciousness briefly, but the second time (it lasted for about 15 minutes), I was in considerable pain from my neck and down to my spine.  But all I could think of was the following scenario. I was worried that I would only be looked at by the junior doctors, not the senior ones.  I blacked out again.

After that, I regained consciousness on my way to the operating theatre.  I was lying on the hospital bed (it was neither too fast but not too slow) and I was being wheeled into the operating room.  There were only junior staff and nurses there.  I remember clearly thinking to myself that I wanted to be attended by senior doctors. At least my brain was still working.
