My heartfelt thanks go to the doctors who saved my life, to the nurses who by their countless and selfless acts helped me enormously, and to the physiotherapists who aided me to move and walk again.

To my speech therapist Dr Valerie Lim - I feel eternally grateful to you for teaching me how to speak, write, read complex things, and a myriad of items which I wasn't able to do after the stroke.

To my mother-in-law who was looking after me innumerable times with such devotion, self-sacrifice, and dedication.

And to my husband through his untiring love for me, his daily trips to the hospital (making me laugh each day), his nights of research on the topic of stroke and therapies, and his enormous encouragement. This has made me feel whole again and at peace...I will always cherish him.
